The Sultanate of Oman has been opened to tourism a few years and is one of the most unknown of the Arabian Peninsula. Oman was closed to the modern world until the arrival of Sultan Qaboos to the throne in 1970 and is now a very peaceful country that has developed gradually. Tourism in Oman provides an idea of how the country was relatively recently and its position along the UAE can reach some accommodation.

As pleased to tell, the first European to reach Oman Basque Gama was on his way to India. From there, seeing that the Omanis had much to offer raw materials, the Portuguese stayed until 1650, when they were expelled from the country. The relationship with them was strong design that thrive in the desert, Portuguese style. Oman and from there expanded its territory over 3,000 km reaching East Africa, Zanzibar as being capital of the African territories Omani Empire.
Although much of the country lives as they have done over the past centuries in the cities is very common to see how Omanis have adapted perfectly to modern life. Still, when they come home are derived from the Western clothes and return to the Omani costume. The Omanis are known for their friendly nature and calm and if you respect their customs will be welcome anywhere.
