Easter is a special time in Ireland. As a country with a strong Catholic tradition, the holidays are the protagonists of the Church that many locals and tourists take advantage to visit with some solemnity.

During Holy Week, Ireland has its own customs, on Thursday did not make any kind of celebration, businesses remain open and all lead a normal life. In contrast, Friday is a holiday designed for family fun. The Monday after Easter Sunday is also a holiday.

Religious tradition in Ireland is dominant and there is usually a great respect for the period of Lent (which are 40 days before Easter), during which prevents, for example, eat red meat.

Easter Sunday is a holiday in Ireland. It is generally a family together, or more, and have dinner together (dinner is very early in general), then goes to a local pub where probably live music and a very happy.

In regard to Easter eggs, they give the Irish the same Sunday including Easter. It is traditional that parents play hide eggs for children to look for them.

Easter dinner includes colored eggs for children, various recipes with potatoes and maybe roast turkey.

Sunday is a family tradition to go to hear mass.
