Festivals and events in Egypt

Egypt is a country with a long tradition and history. Throughout the year we participate in various festivities and the many events taking place, both historical, such as sports, religious, etc.

National holidays are:

* 1 January: New Year
* From 9 to 12 February: Feast of Bairam
* From 17 to 22 April: The Big Party
* April 25: Easter Egyptian
* July 18: Liberation Day
* July 23: Revolution Day
* October 6: Armed Forces Day
* 24 October: Popular Resistance Day
* 23 December: Victory Day

Holidays based on the Islamic calendar change year after year because this is a lunar calendar. These so: the celebrations of the birthday of Prophet Mohamed and the Islamic New Year sometime in December also marks the ascension of Mohammed.
