Have you thought of everything before you fly in the tropics? That’s all you need to check before departure or put in your bag to leave in the best conditions.
Find places
To achieve calm, take some information about:
- The geographical location of your hotel / accommodation;
- The trip from your hotel / accommodation at the airport;
- The average price of transport modes;
- Where you make (s) first (s) day (s).
Take the right equipment
Planning in general:
- A light backpack for everyday (or with a waterproof rain cover);
- Senior wide and long sleeves;
- Loose trousers and tightening at the ankles;
- A K-way;
- A hat;
- Sunglasses;
- A pair of flip flops or sandals;
- High shoes (for walking).
To the beach:
- A swimsuit;
- A beach towel.
But as the following:
- An ITN;
- A sleeping bag and / or meat bag;
- An inflatable pillow;
- A headlamp and / or a flashlight dynamo;
- A gourd;
- A compass.
And possibly:
- A travel guide;
- Books;
- A card game to entertain you or the children.
Well-being and health
Several weeks before leaving, you must:
- Make the vaccines mandatory or recommended;
- Consult a doctor for antimalarial treatment if necessary;
- You get the drugs of first aid kit (see our handout: Care Kit ideal traveling).
You do not have to have a first aid kit complete. But take a minimum:
- A high protection sunscreen (factor 50 minimum) for face and body;
- A mosquito repellent;
- An antiseptic;
- An antibacterial gel;
- An anti-diarrheal;
- A thermometer;
- Aspirin or paracetamol for fever;
- An antihistamine or anti allergy.
Add if you like:
- An after-sun lotion;
- Pellets for purifying water;
- Taking anti-mosquito
- A ASPIVENIN.
The papers needed
Paperwork side, use:
- Passport;
- International Driving Permit;
- Vaccination;
- Blood group card;
- Number of your travel insurance;
- Prescription Drug Orders;
- Photocopies of these papers.
Before You Go
A few days before your departure, you can:
- Check the weather for days to come;
- Check that your flight was not canceled;
- Contact your hotel to arrange your arrival (airport transfers for example).
