Located at an altitude of 855 meters near Hechingen, 50 kilometers from Stuttgart, imposing profile reflects the legacy of a family that ruled Prussia and Brandenburg until the end of the First World War. It is of course a must-see tourist destination in the region.

4. Neuschwanstein Castle. Not exactly a medieval castle, although it seems. It is rather the result of the wishes of King Ludwig, dubbed as “insane.” I wanted a fairytale design in the middle of a beautiful region of mountains, lakes and waterfalls. He built with his own money toward the end of the nineteenth century, and today is one of the most visited castles and photogenic in the world.
