Traverse A Long Time

Little by little, season after season, airports are adding new things that seek to facilitate the users at the same time reducing consumption and / or save money on costs. We have seen that in some places have begun to place virtual staff to address questions or announce the shipment. But the last major contribution is to London’s Heathrow Airport, the largest of those in the British capital.

This complex is so large that it takes to traverse a long time. Especially if you arrive by car to the terminal to catch a plane or vice versa, you have just landed and we have to move to the parking lot. So the BAA (British Airport Authority) has authorized management to put a new service that connects two points with speed, comfort and cleanliness. It is called Ultra and futuristic-looking capsules began to run regularly this summer after a trial period.

The big news ULTra presented as they have no driver, the passenger enters his destination on a computer and automatically are launched guided by laser sensors. Circulating unique circuits to avoid accidents, at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour, making them reach their destination in minutes, saving up to 60% of the time it would take to walk.

Since the T5 is 4 kilometers which would have to walk, which would take considerable time. The ULTra do in about 6 minutes, something that augurs success and probably the early dissemination by other airports.
