The Canaima National Park is in the state of Bolivar in Venezuela. In 1994 was declared World Heritage by UNESCO. It has about 30,000 square kilometers and is one of the largest national park in the world.
One of the peculiarities of the park are its plateaus of rock that are larger tepuyes calls dle 50% of the park. The table mountains are the product of erosion of mountains and the Massif Guyana or Venezuela Gran Sabana . These are the oldest mountains on earth, dating from the Precambrian. They consist of sandstone, slate and quartzite.
